KP Cannons is a case in point.

KP’s was a mature artist when I met him over 2 years ago. He’d been working on his sound for over a decade. By the time he was 19, his hard work started to pay off in the form of notoriety and stream counts. He was bubbling.

With that notoriety came the attention of prospective managers and others who promised to guide his star to the doorstep of a major label, the promised land. As it happens, not much happened. Some money was lost, promises were broken, the opportunity passed, and the opportunists left along with it.
